The Beast

Well, now, the Beast...
settles in on me;
with all the weight...
of Galilee;

hushed tone - forked tongue...
in a quiet room;
and the taste...
of creeping doom.

well, now, the Past...
is mine to keep;
for all its Sins...
I dearly weep;

I choose my battles...
when I am strong;
and the Lord's dear Mercy...
carry me along.

Oh God and demons...
Please give me time;
We'll work this through...
In metered rhyme;

And soft whisper...
of the lis'ning trees;
Sends a man...
straight to his knees.

Kind lantern lit...
as this Valley looms;
Love of an Angel...
I could never woo;

Time waits for no one...
or so they say;
but female Grace,
keeps the Beast at bay.

Sandy soil...
Faith grows so slow;
i need my demons...
to make a show;

I trust the Beast,
will wait on thee...
to give the mercy,
he extends to me.

Oh God and demons...
Please give me time;
We'll work this through...
In metered time;

And soft whisper...
of the lis'ning trees;
Sends a man...
straight to his knees.

Oh God and demons...
Please give me time;
We'll work this through...
In metered rhyme;

And soft whisper...
of the lis'ning trees;
Sends a man...
straight to his knees.

The lost distraught...
And the workin' Kin;
Thanks and Respect...
To keep my Skin.

I don' know nuthin'...
Not a friggin' thing;
And no woman...
Could wear my ring.

Oh God and demons...
Please give me time;
We'll work this through...
In metered rhyme;

And soft whisper...
of the lis'ning trees;
Sends a man...
straight to his knees.

Oh God and demons...
Please give me time;
We'll work this through...
In metered rhyme;

And soft whisper...
of the lis'ning trees;
Sends a man...
straight to his knees.
